Psychological empowerment for the future of work: Evidence from Portugal

In the competitive global marketplace, it is becoming important for organizations to empower employees productivity reasons. One of organizational empowerment models with greater support and consistency in various studies which has been used Spreitzer's Model Psychological Empowerment Workplace, published 1995. The model composed four dimensions that allow measurement components meaning, competence, self-determination impact work on individual empowerment. present study aims evaluate psychometric properties, Portuguese context, referred model. After translation adaptation psychological scale, questionnaire was applied a sample 545 workers from industrial organizations. results application structural equation modeling identifying same defined by Spreitzer model, so can be considered reliable valid instrument measure context. However, we consider complementary are necessary analyze properties scale further advance research. obtained us affirm will basic strategy improve transformations companies constantly face. It therefore level their employees, order find solutions problems such as turnover, talent attraction, performance, demotivation human resource management practices. This particularly following COVID-19 pandemic psychology tested due working home social distancing requirements.
